SF SUPPORT
ENHANCING MISSION CAPABILITY
BECOME A SOF ENABLER
WORK THAT MATTERS: Soldiers here don’t think of themselves as simply doing a job. They are a professional group of Soldiers filling a vital role within their duty positions. SF Support Soldiers provide direct assistance to the Special Forces Teams and the SF Mission.
UNIQUE EXPERIENCES: Working within SF separates you from your non-SOF counter-parts. Your training and skill development does not end after initial entry training. You will continue your skill sustainment, Airborne Jump Status, conduct unit level training, and even attend additional schools or courses.
training
Civilians enlisting into the SF Support will go through initial training the same as any new Soldier to the Guard. This includes Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training where you’ll be trained in one of the vital support Military Occupational Specialities (MOS). In addition, US Army Airborne Training will be included as part of your initial training.
Prior Service members will enlist with their MOS and Airborne training scheduled post enlistment. Prior Service Navy and Air Force personnel will be scheduled to attend Basic Combat Training.
Candidates of the 19th Group Special Forces are provided with continuous training opportunities throughout their careers, enhancing their skill set and readiness. Among these programs, the Special Forces Basic Combat Course for Support (SFBCC-S) stands out as a comprehensive training regimen. This course, led by experienced Green Berets, equips support personnel for upcoming tactical missions, irrespective of their chosen Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).
During SFBCC-S, soldiers undergo intensive training in various essential skills, including advanced rifle marksmanship, advanced weapons training, convoy operations, night operations, advanced first aid, Airborne Operations, and urban operations. The curriculum is designed to ensure that individuals, regardless of their role, emerge as tactically proficient and mentally prepared soldiers, integral to the success of Special Operations Forces (SOF) missions.
The emphasis is on developing a well-rounded and versatile skill set that aligns with the dynamic demands of special forces operations.
