OUT OF STATE
SERVE IN UTAH
HOW IT WORKS
There are many Soldiers in the 19th Special Forces Group who commute to Utah for the privilege of serving in the SF. The Recruiting Command in UT has authorized applicant travel funds for the purpose of enlistment into the 19th Group. A round trip flight will be purchased for you as well as hotel accommodations. The Guard will not purchase flights/hotel for dependents.
The enlistment process for out of state applicants requires some additional steps not common to in state applicants, such as scanning and emailing source documents (Birth Certificate, High School Diploma, etc) as well as completing forms digitally for your enlistment packet. We bring in many out of state candidates each year using a thorough step-by-step process.
TIMELINE
Always be honest with your desired timeline. There are a lot of moving parts and resources that are working to bring you in. It can become problematic when candidates are not honest with their progress in completing the required forms and security clearance application, especially when coordination is being made between the Military Entrance Processing Station, Recruiting Operations, Airlines, and the 19th Special Forces Group.
TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT
Except for a select few, travel costs for commuting here are on you. You must be financially stable for travel while keeping in mind that being a part of the 19th Special Forces Group is 100% voluntary.
When funding is available, Soldier’s who are 35 Series (intelligence) and 18 Series (Special Forces) qualified can be reimbursed up to $500 each month to help offset travel costs.
