SPECIAL FORCES CANDIDATE PROGRAM

the sf contract

Embarking on the journey to become a Special Forces operator is a commitment to a path less traveled, a challenge that separates the extraordinary from the ordinary. The 18X contract for non-prior service candidates opens the gateway to test your mettle, offering the chance to prove yourself in the crucible of Special Forces selection. It’s not a guarantee of acceptance; rather, it’s an invitation to discover if you possess the qualities to stand among the elite, the pinnacle of combat prowess.

The Special Forces Assessment and Selection (SFAS) is not just a test of physical strength but a holistic evaluation, delving into the core attributes crucial for every Special Forces Soldier. Intelligence, trainability, physical fitness, motivation, influence, and judgment are scrutinized through a comprehensive “whole man” selection process. Success at SFAS propels you into the heart of the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC), a 53-week odyssey designed to hone the skills necessary for effective deployment as an SF Soldier.

Within the realm of Special Forces Career Management Field/MOS programs (CMF 18), there are four distinct entry-level enlisted paths awaiting those with the drive to excel. The choice of your Special Forces MOS and foreign language training is a personalized journey, sculpted by your background, aptitude scores (AFQT and DLAB), and personal aspirations. Your destiny in the Special Forces is not just a matter of chance; it’s a reflection of your dedication and the unique qualities that set you apart. Welcome to the crucible..
